The early reviews for Zack Snyder's Justice League, ahead of it's release on HBO Max on March 18th, have actually been...surprisingly positive. Currently holding a 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, there seems to be few complaints of the film with the most obvious praise being it's a massive improvement to the 2017 theatrical cut that was overseen by Joss Whedon. Essentially, it's Snyder's best-reviewed DCEU film of the three projects he contributed to the splintered cinematic universe. This makes it all the more beautiful for fans who clamored for his cut of the massive superhero team-up, but for those who are excited for it, it's now been confirmed a short documentary will be released on the service the same day as the film itself.
The footage was shot by behind-the-scenes cameraman Simon Firsht who was on set for the original shoot before Snyder left during post-production due to the suicide of his daughter. The documentary will feature never-before-seen footage of the film's production and will clock in about 30 minutes. This was confirmed by Firsht who posted the news to his Instagram account:
Whatever one may think of this film, it goes without saying it has one of the most fascinating production histories, littered in questionable decision-making creatively and executively. A documentary showing the simple purity of the filmmaking process that has seemingly triumphed with the release of the Snyder Cut is one any film fan should be willing to support. Stay tuned!
