The upcoming horror-comedy Werewolves Within is another oddball film that like recent films such as The Dead Don't Die that are a play on a classic horror trope. In this case, it's the concept of werewolves and their response as a force of nature in regard to a proposed gas pipeline that has created divisions within the small town of Beaverfield. When a snowstorm traps its residents together inside the local inn, newly arrived forest ranger Finn (Played by Sam Richardson) and postal worker Cecily (Played by Milana Vayntrub) must try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorizing the community.
However, the film is actually the adaptation of the 2016 VR game of the same name and thus embraces some of the silliness of the transparent topicality as made clear in the exclusive trailer released today. Check it out below:
Werewolves Within co-stars George Basil, Sarah Burns, Michael Chernus, Catherine Curtin, Wayne Duvall, Harvey Guillén, Rebecca Henderson, Cheyenne Jackson, Michaela Watkins, and Glenn Fleshler. It is directed by Josh Ruben and is set to have a limited release on June 25th, followed by video on demand on July 2nd. The film is first set to have it's world premiere at this year's Tribeca Film Festival in early June.
