Following his starring roles in the high-profile films BlacKKKlansman (2018), Tenet (2020) and Malcolm & Marie (2021), actor John David Washington has officially snatched the leading role in director Gareth Edwards’ new sci-fi feature True Love.
Set up over at the studio New Regency, the film will mark the first directorial effort for Edwards since 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. While it's confirmed the story is set in the near future, no other plot details are being revealed. It is based on an original idea of Edwards who writes and produces alongside his directing duties. Kiri Hart will also produce alongside Edwards. No production start date has been given at this time. Stay tuned!
