Two "Cruella" TV Spots Tease Her 'Origin' & 'Her Story'

It's a wonder if Emma Stone's upcoming film Cruella can wow audiences. Unlike several of the recent live-action adaptations of their popular animated films, Cruella is attempting to broach an area of a popular Disney villain that has not been explored yet. Glenn Close, who previously portrayed Cruella in the previous live-action adaptations. 101 Dalmatians and 102 Dalmatians, is also executive producing the project which could mean something for the film's quality. It also helps it's directed by Craig Gillespie who is known for off-kilter comedy-dramas like Lars and the Real Girl and I, Tonya. This means audiences are probably going to get a very odd film tonally (as much as can be for a Disney film, anyway). An odd tone that just might be able to put Cruella in the right light that viewers will want to watch an entire story about just her.

However, whether audiences feel they need to see how the Dalmatians-hunting fashion diva came to be won't be clear until it lands simultaneous in theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access on May 28th. For now, two TV spots highlighting the titular character's "Origin" and "Her Story" have been released today. Check them out below:

Cruella co-stars Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Mark Strong. Stay tuned!
