Trailer: "The Garfield Movie"

It's been 20 years since Bill Murray voiced Garfield in the horrendous live-action 2004 film Garfield: The Movie. Despite being a box office hit and having a sequel that did equally well despite bad reviews, was so bad that Murray himself dissed it during his cameo appearance in Zombieland.

While the new fully computer-animated film The Garfield Movie at least realizes how out-of-place the titular character looked against a live-action backdrop, somehow they decided to now cast Chris Pratt as the voice actor. (Which everyone seems to be doing lately) While the trailer for the new movie shows a story that more resembles Jim Davis' classic comic character, it feels yet again like another modernized take of the lasagna-loving cat. Check it out below:

The Garfield Movie includes the voices of Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, and Bowen Yang. It is directed by Mark Dindal and is set to hit theaters May 24th.

If you guys aren't watching Shogun on Hulu, start. It's fantastic. I'm thinking of moving to Japan, getting into the silk trade, and learning the ways of the samurai.
