For the last 5 or so years, people have come to know Kevin Costner as John Dutton III on the hit show Yellowstone. While he will be returning for the final episodes of the fifth season, he will then be exiting the show due to filming schedule conflicts with his ambitious passion project, the planned four-part film saga Horizon: An American Saga. Originally conceived by Costner as a single film back in 1988, Costner has already shot the first two parts of the saga, with Chapter 1 scheduled to be released on June 28th and Chapter 2 is scheduled to be released on August 16th.
The saga as a whole will chronicle a 15-year span of time before and after the Civil war expansion and settlement of the American West. In addition to directing, producing, and co-writing the script with Jon Baird, he is serving as the lead character as well alongside an expected large ensemble. But will audiences show up to a four-film saga?
