Trailer: HBO's "The Investigation"

Tobias Lindholm perhaps isn't a name too familiar to US audiences. Well, not as directly as he is in his native Scandinavia beyond, maybe, his Oscar-nominated film A War. However, one of his strongest American credits is directing several episodes of the universally acclaimed Netflix series Mindhunter. So, if you liked that show and it's mystery elements, you may be excited for Lindholm's new HBO miniseries The Investigation which tells the strange true story about missing journalist Kim Wall who built a submarine...and was never found again. Lindholm had this to say on creating the new miniseries:

“It is with great humility that I created The Investigation. There is a great deal of responsibility in choosing to tell stories about events from the real world. Therefore, I am more than grateful for all the support I’ve received, including some of Denmark’s and Sweden’s most talented and acclaimed actors.”

The events of the series were internationally famous, described as a "submarine case" and the series itself will focus on Jens Møller (Played by Søren Malling), the Head of Homicide. With his team, Møller becomes motivated to provide the prosecutor (Played by Pilou Asbæk) solid evidence in order to create a convincing case and give the relatives of the journalist the certainty they deserve. The trailer released today truly reveals a compelling tale filled with mystery and wonder with Lindholm having worked in close cooperation with the real-life Jens Møller and Kim Wall’s parents, Ingrid and Joachim Wall. Check it out below:

The Investigation is set to debut on HBO and HBO Max on February 1st.
