Trailer: Apple TV+'s "Sugar"

While we wait to see Colin Farrell return in the unrecognizable role of Penguin for his solo series on Max, it seems Farrell will be keeping to noir with his new science fiction series Sugar which will be streaming over at Apple TV+.

The synopsis before the new trailer seemingly foreshadows a classic detective tale where Ferrell takes on the role of private investigator John Sugar who examines the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel (Sydney Chandler), the granddaughter of a legendary Hollywood producer (Dennis Boutsikaris). However, the show has also been described as "a genre-bending contemporary take on the private detective story set in Los Angeles." Check out the trailer to see what that might mean:

The series is the creation of Mark Protosevich, known for writing the scripts for the remakes of Poseidon (2006), I Am Legend (2007), and Oldboy (2013). However, he also wrote the script for the cult 2000 hit The Cell and the got story credit for Thor (2011). Whether he can deliver in what is seemingly his first original work in 20 years won't be determined until the show lands on Apple TV+ on April 5th. Stay tuned!

I don't know about the sci fi twist, but the trailer looked boring and generic as fuck to me.

I wonder what the sci-fi twist is? That thing with his hand shaking? It looked like he was turning into Mr. Hyde. I may check this out. But mainly for that dog at the end.
