A24 has cut itself a nice niche when it comes to high-concept horror, notable for being behind the works of Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar, Beau Is Afraid) and the early films of Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse). Their next film to come out is I Saw The TV Glow, written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun who saw acclaim with her previous film We're All Going to the World's Fair (2021).
Like that project, her new film will deal with the distortion of reality brought on by the use of technology, this time focusing on two teenagers who bond over their love of a television series. However, after the show is mysteriously canceled, their reality begins to blur. Following an acclaim debut earlier this year at Sundance, the official trailer has been released ahead of its theatrical release on May 3rd. Critical acclaim aside, as this trailer shows, the film might be another mind-bending offering from A24:
I Saw The TV Glow stars Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine, with Ian Foreman, Helena Howard, Fred Durst and Danielle Deadwyler, among others, in supporting roles.
Sleuth, you teach English. How do you feel about Apple making William Gibson's Neuromancer?

Pornfly is alive. I saw him on World of Reel. It was the first comment he's made in a year.
