"The English" Western Series to Star Emily Blunt

From conquering horror (A Quiet Place) to science fiction (Looper) to even managing a solid sequel to a classic (Mary Poppins Returns), actress Emily Blunt pretty much has succeeded on the big screen in every way possible. Now, she turns her creative gaze towards the small screen as it's been confirmed she is set to lead the Western series The English.

Set up over at Amazon Studios (along with Drama Republic and The BBC), Blunt will star as an Englishwoman in 1890 who arrives in the American West to seek revenge on the man she sees as responsible for the death of her son. She joins forces with an ex-cavalry scout (and member of the Pawnee Nation) by the name of Eli Whipp (Played by Chaske Spencer). Along the way, they discover a shared history.

The project is created by Hugo Blick who will also produce the series which will co-star Rafe Spall, Tom Hughes, Stephen Rea, Toby Jones, Ciaran Hinds, Valerie Pachner, Malcolm Storry, Steve Wall, Nichola McAuliffe, and Cristian Solimeno. The six-part series is set to air on BBC One in the UK and Amazon Prime in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Stay tuned!
