A mobile game is surprisingly getting a lot of attention over at the Tokyo Games Show this weekend. Titled Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, the latest in the long-running franchise, the newest game continues the beautiful art style in both the characters and the world the inhabit that takes heavy inspiration from Studio Ghibli anime films.
In addition, a 15-minute "teaser tour" has been released at TGS which teases the several game modes allowed. Kingdom is a cooperative multiplayer mode that allows a larger group of players to explore different regions of Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds together, either battling and taming wild familiars together, or simply hanging out around town. The other mode, Team Arena, is a straightforward mode where players compete against each other in 3-on-3 combat to collect the most creatures. The game's plot will follow a beta tester for "Project N", a fictional virtual reality game. The game will be available on Android and iOS in Japan in 2020 but no confirmation of when it will be available in the US. Stay tuned!
