At the end of Avengers: Endgame, Chris Hemsworth's Thor was at a low point. While Thanos had just been defeated, the once mighty Norse god had found himself now without a purpose after having suffered 5 years of oddly realistic depression. And while Fat Thor (as he was affectionately named) is seemingly gone and he's bulkier then ever, with his superhero days seemingly over.
In the first teaser for the highly-anticipated Thor: Love and Thunder, the God of Thunder finds himself starting out where he left off in Endgame, riding off into the stars with the Guardians of the Galaxy and as he parts from them, another conflict arises that forces him to use Stormbreaker once again. It's been confirmed that conflict is Gorr the God Butcher (Played by Christian Bale) who is threatening to eliminate all gods (with Russell Crowe set to cameo as Zeus), but the teaser mostly just shows the major returning characters (including Valkyrie and Korg).
In addition, there is a VERY brief tease of Natalie Portman's return as Jane Foster who is battling cancer but is also chosen by a repaired Mjolnir to become Mighty Thor.
A bigger trailer will likely be released very soon as the film is hitting theaters in roughly two months (July 8th), but for now check out the teaser trailer below:
Thor: Love and Thunder co-stars Tessa Thompson, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Jeff Goldblum, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel. It is once again directed by Taika Waititi (who co-wrote the script with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson). In addition, check out the new teaser poster which definitely keeps to the rock 'n' roll theme the movie is presenting, as if Peter Quill and the trailer music wasn't enough of a hint:
Stay tuned!
"I need to figure out exactly who I am".....for the THIRD FUCKING TIME
1500 year old Thor just now decided to have the midlife crisis of a 50 year old mortal for the third time in the span of what, 20 years?
>He already went through the "self-discovery" arc involving his ego and not being worthy to wield Mjolnir in the first Thor film
>He went through it again from Ragnarok to Endgame, in finding his place, what he is meant to be, accepting the throne... and then giving it up.
Now he needs to figure out who he is...AGAIN?
What the fuck are they smoking with this character?
LMAO
same director and style as Ragnarok which was terrible imo. trailer is meh.
