With Don Mancini having taken over directing duties for the last three Chucky films (minus the 2019 reboot that wasn't in the continuity of the original film series), the franchise has found itself taking greater risks than ever before. The last film in the series, 2017's Cult of Chucky, saw the crazed doll with the serial killer learning how to possess multiple hosts (or dolls). And now, Mancini's new series, which will act as a sequel to that film, will bring together characters new and old as a small idyllic town faces a series of murders after a vintage Good Guy doll turns up at a yard sale. Franchise vets Brad Dourif, Alex Vincent, Jennifer Tilly, Christine Elise McCarthy, and Fiona Dourif will be joined by newcomers Devon Sawa, Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, and Alyvia Alyn Lind.
While the official trailer is expected to appear at Comic-Con this year, co-star Sawa has released the official teaser poster for the series on his Twitter account with confirmation of an announcement for the show coming tomorrow:
While the show has no official premiere date, it's believed it will adhere to it's planned Fall release where it will air on both the Syfy channel and USA. Hopefully, tomorrow's announcement will shed light on that aspect as well. Stay tuned!
