Story Trailer: "The Callisto Protocol"

The more footage shown for the upcoming video game The Callisto Protocol, the more Dead Space fans wonder if the game might actually be set in that universe. Not just because of the obvious gameplay similarities (including dismembering zombie-like NPC's), but the way the visuals and story seem to blend with that previous franchise. However, The Callisto Protocol is set in 2320 (almost 200 years before the events of the Dead Space games) so that theory might quickly be disproven. Despite the game being created by Glen Schofield, who had previously co-created the Dead Space series.

In any case, Schofield carries over the claustrophobic atmosphere from Dead Space in this new tale set at a prison colony called Black Iron, operated by the United Jupiter Company, and located on Jupiter's moon Callisto. The player takes the role of a prisoner Jacob Lee (Josh Duhamel) held at Black Iron, finding themselves in the midst of an alien invasion that appears to have been engineered by the prison's warden. As the story trailer reveals (though not much), it leads to some disturbing avenues that players may face in search of the truth. Check it out below:

The Callisto Protocol is set to be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on December 2nd.
