"Space Jam: A New Legacy" Reveals Updated Tune Squad Jersey

Few know that a sequel for Space Jam actually has been in the works pretty much since the first film came out in 1996. After Jordan refused to return for the sequel, it was going to star Jackie Chan and be called Spy Jam and Warner Bros. was also planning a film titled Race Jam, which would have starred racing driver Jeff Gordon. You get the idea. Whoever starred essentially set the tone of what the film would be about. Eventually, audiences got the well-received (But unfortunately box office flop) 2003 film Looney Tunes: Back in Action, having very little to do with the original film.

Now, however, a direct sequel that brings back the initial concept, a famous basketball player teaming up with the famous cartoons, has come into development. Officially titled Space Jame: A New Legacy, it will star Lebron James, hailing from SpringHill Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures. And today, we have the official look of what the new Tune Squad jersey will look like which you can check out below and also links to the Twitter video that initially revealed the look:

The project managed to wrap filming just before the pandemic hit and so is still on track for its original release date of July 16, 2021. The film is directed by Malcolm D. Lee. Stay tuned!
