With his first two directorial efforts having gone so well, it makes sense that Aaron Sorkin would keep it going with a third true story-inspired film, this time focusing on the iconic Hollywood couple Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. And now, he may have found his Lucy and Ricardo in the form of Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem, respectively.
Much like his script for Steve Jobs (Which focused around three different moments in Jobs' life), Being the Ricardos will have a time-sensitive story, set to focus on a production week on the set of I Love Lucy with mention it will begin with a table read on Monday and end with an audience shoot on Friday. Along the way, the lead couple will face challenges in their careers and their marriage.
Like his other directorial efforts, Sorkin will write the script for the film which is set-up over at Amazon Studios and Escape Artists, the latter of which will have Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch of produce the film. In addition, Escape Artists’ Jenna Block and David Bloomfield will serve as executive producers alongside Stuart Besser, Lucie Arnaz, Desi Arnaz, Jr. and Lauren Lohman. Stay tuned!
