DC FanDome had it's time, film festivals are running, but both of those run contrary to the rules of the lockdown that the COVID-19. However, video games pretty much can keep being what they have been forever...something to keep people at home all weekend as gamers pour hundreds of hours into various games. And now the holidays are spoken for with the PS5 Showcase that not only presented new gameplay trailers for several previously announced titles, but also confirmed the release date for the PS5. It's initial release will be on November 12th for the U.S. and select other countries (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Mexico and South Korea) while the global release will be a week later on November 19th.
It's been confirmed before today that there will be two variations of the console. An Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive which will be priced at $499. The other version is a Digital Edition (No disc drive) which will be priced for $399. Both versions will go on sale on launch day. Pre-orders are already available with Gamestop's online store haven't crashed from the number of orders. In addition to the new trailers released for previously announced titles, several new games were confirmed today the 16th main installment of Final Fantasy and a very brief teaser trailer that announced the next installments of God of War, titled God of War: Ragnarok.
