A lot of good films gotten lost in the shuffle these days. And with the COVID-19 pandemic having everything shuffled, it's doubly so lately. One film that was quite well-received last year but got almost no attention was the Eva Green-starring film Proxima. Sadly, there was only enough room for one "woman in space" concept and most of that was devoted to Natalie Portman's film Lucy in the Sky, even though Proxima was far better received. In fact, some have dared described Green's performance as Sarah, a female astronaut preparing for a year-long stint on the International Space Station while trying to be a mother to her eight-year-old daughter Stella (Played by Zélie Boulant), as a "career-best".
Luckily, Vertical Entertainment have picked up the film and will release it digitally and on VOD on November 6th. And today, the studio has released an official trailer for the film. Check it out below:
Proxima co-stars Lars Eidinger, Matt Dillon, and Sandra Hüller. It is directed by Alice Winocour (Who co-wrote the script with Jean-Stéphane Bron).
