Ari Aster has quickly made a name for himself for his high-art horror films Hereditary and Midsommar. Admittedly, the idea of Joaquin Phoenix starring in his third film, titled Beau is Afraid, is a tempting idea, but the plot...oddly sounds like Joker, the film Phoenix won the Oscar for earlier this year.
The film follows the titular character Beau, an extremely anxious man who learns of the death of his overbearing mother under mysterious circumstances. Traveling home for her funeral, he makes an alarming discovery about his past. While not confirmed, it's believed this discovery will be related to the father he's never met.
The film will incorporate Aster's surrealistic style and the story is said to involve crazy supernatural threats to match these potential visuals. Beyond directing, Aster will once again write the script and produce the project through his Square Peg production banner (As he did for his two previous films). No distributor has been announced, however A24 has been where his last two films have been distributed and it's speculated his new film will land there as well. Stay tuned!
I had to skip some parts to finish it...the last 15 min were action packed but it was not enough to save the movie, lame plot, not funny and silly ending. I saw on downloads gibson has another new movie (smaller role i guess) called 'Boss Level'...hopefully it turns out to be better than this piece of crap. and I doubt 'Passion 2' will ever see the light of day as so many jewish producers will do whatever they can to prevent it's making/release including even creating a little 'accident' for Gibson.
Aw man
I was gonna watch that
His hurricane film was not a film
Guess Mel needs to make that Jesus 2 Electric Jewgaloo movie
Halfway through 'fatman'...waste of time so far.
