Official Trailer: 'The Black Phone"

Director Scott Derrickson may not have gotten to bring horror to Doctor Strange 2, but he seems quite at home as he returns to the genre in it's purest form with his upcoming film The Black Phone which sees him also co-writing the script with his Doctor Strange co-writer, C. Robert Cargill. Especially, as indicated by the first official trailer that teases a truly twisted film that embodies the 2004 short story of the same name by Joe Hill (of which the film is based on. It also sees Derrickson reteam with his Sinister lead star Ethan Hawke who plays a serial killer who kidnaps a child (Played by Mason Thames) and throws him into a basement to await his death. However, the child can communicate with the past victims through a disconnected black phone in the basement which he will use in order to escape. Check out the official trailer below:

The Black Phone is set to be released in theaters on February 4th, 2022.
