Set to follow in the vein of movies like Promising Young Woman, writer/director Jim Cummings' new film The Beta Test contends with misogyny in Hollywood, particularly focusing on a married Hollywood agent who receives a mysterious letter for an anonymous sexual encounter and becomes ensnared in a sinister world of lying, murder, and infidelity.
The dark satire thriller asks the question, "In the age of internet consumerism and digital tracking, does anyone truly have privacy? And can we ever truly rest without having all the answers?" Cummings will take starring duties as well as the Hollywood agent along with PJ McCabe co-starring. Check out the official trailer for the film below:
The Beta Test is set to be released in theaters and on VOD on November 5th.
