Kristen Stewart spoke last year about putting months into preparation to play Princess Diana for the upcoming film Spencer which puts a microscope on the late-real world icon during a single weekend of Christmas festivities at the Queen's Sandringham Estate. And it looks like it's paying off. Not only did the film's premiere at the Venice Film Festival have a three-minute standing ovation and has critical acclaim on RT with a 91%, but in addition Stewart has officially been declared a frontrunner for Best Actress at next year's Academy Awards.
While all those things might mean little to some audiences and will be based on their own viewing of the film, the official trailer released today gives a good case for why Stewart may finally deserve to come out from under the bad Twilight insults and be declared a great actress. Check it out below:
Spencer co-stars Jack Farthing, Timothy Spall, Sean Harris, and Sally Hawkins. It is directed by Pablo Larraín and is set to hit theaters on November 5th.
