When 2010's Skyline came out, I don't suspect anyone thought a sequel would happen for the Greg and Colin Strause-directed film. Yet, it did. And, surprisingly, 2017's Beyond Skyline ended up being far better received, perhaps due to the first film's co-writer, Liam O'Donnell, taking over sole directing and writing duties along with the more action-driven storytelling led by actors such as Frank Grillo and Iko Uwais. With the upcoming third and final film coming December 18th in theaters, titled Skylin3s, O'Donnell returns to finish the story started nearly a decade ago.
The story focuses on Captain Rose Corley (Played by Lindsey Morgan) who was a baby in Beyond Skyline but saw Morgan briefly taken on the role in that film's closing moments when it jumped ten years forward to reveal a world where humans and friendly alien hybrids are co-existing and fighting together to end the alien threat started in the 2010 film. Now, when a virus threatens to turn the now earth-dwelling friendly alien hybrids against humans, she must lead a team of elite mercenaries on a mission to the alien world in order to save what's left of humanity.
Luckily, the official trailer released today seems to indicate the film will keep to the action focus of the second film. Check it out below:
Skylin3s co-stars Rhona Mitra and Alexander Siddig.
