Harvey Keitel might have missed out on the "meeting of the gangsters" for Scorceses's 2019 biographical film The Irishman, but at least he gets to take on the gangster persona once again for his own biographical gangster film, namely one focusing on famous gangster Meyer Lansky. Even if Lansky is just getting a limited release in theaters simultaneously with a VOD release on June 25th. The synopsis is as follows:
David Stone (Played by Sam Worthington), a renowned but down-on-his-luck writer, has the opportunity of a lifetime when he receives a surprise call from Meyer Lansky (Played by Keitel). For decades, authorities have been trying to locate Lansky’s alleged nine-figure fortune and this is their last chance to capture the aging gangster before he dies. With the FBI close behind, the Godfather of organized crime reveals the untold truth about his life as the notorious boss of Murder Inc. and the National Crime Syndicate.
