At first glance, the upcoming Blumhouse film Freaky might seem like a cut-and-dry mesh of Freaky Friday and Friday the 13th. The film sees a high school student (Played by Kathryn Newton) who unintentionally switches bodies with a serial killer (Played by Vince Vaughn). Heck, to be cute, the film is set to be released on Friday the 13th (November 13th to be exact). However, it's the combination of these stars and the film's director Christopher Landon (Who co-wrote the script with Michael Kennedy) that brings intrigue to this film.
Last time we saw Landon, he gave us the incredibly fun Happy Death Day films which mixed Groundhog Day with science fiction and murder mystery. He managed to let his influences serve as a jump-off point and then he went crazy with the ideas he presents. So, perhaps, he can do the same again here with Freaky and the new trailer seems to imply he will. Check it out below:
Freaky co-stars Katie Finneran, Celeste O'Connor, and Alan Ruck.
I bet Vince Vaughn deserved this.
