Following his previous success on Apple TV+ with the acclaimed miniseries Black Bird, actor Taron Egerton has teamed up with the streaming service again for an original film focusing on the true story of the high-stakes legal battle to secure the intellectual property rights to Tetris. The film will see Egerton take on the role of Dutch video game designer and entrepreneur Henk Rogers who not only helped distribute Tetris on video game consoles where the game found popularity but founded The Tetris Company (which licenses the Tetris trademark) and was instrumental in resolving licensing disputes that brought Tetris to the Game Boy.
The trailer not only gives glimpses of this biographical aspect but touches on the strange attraction of the simple game. Check it out below:
Tetris is directed by Jon S. Baird and is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on March 31st.
I played Tetris so much that I beat the game. If you go through enough boards, credits roll and you see a spaceship take off. That's when I knew that I played too much Tetris.
Looks well made but I'm zero interested
