Amazon is determined to leave a mark in the streaming service department. Not only are they funding a massive Lords of the Rings series, but before that audiences will get access to a big budget Wheel of Time series adaptation. Based on Robert Jordan's novel series of the same name, the series will follow Moiraine (Played by Rosamund Pike). A member of the Aes Sedai, a powerful all-female organization of magic users, she takes a group of five young people on a journey around the world, believing one of the five might be the reincarnation of the Dragon, a powerful individual prophesied to save the world or destroy it.
A trailer shouldn't be too far off as the official poster released today reveals the series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in November. Check it out below:
It will be interesting to see how the adaptation turns out, giving Wheel of Time has struggled to be adapted since 2000 when NBC first optioned the screen rights where a film series was initially in the works. But perhaps a show will allow the world to fully be captured in a way that will please both fans of the book and fans of the fantasy genre. Stay tuned!
They are going to ruin the Wheel of Time with their woke bullshit. I just read thy synopsis of the first book and Moiraine isn't really the main character. This will suck and piss off nerds all over the world.
