It's a strong bet that Netflix hopes to parade Aaron Sorkin's The Trial of the Chicago 7 when award season begins. While often Netflix has simply one trailer that releases a month before a show or movie does, their biggest releases actually carry a teaser trailer and a full-length trailer. That's a small way to note the importance of certain projects. As such, today audiences get a full-length trailer to follow the teaser trailer for Sorkin's sophomore directing effort that happened a week or so ago (See the teaser here).
The Trial of the Chicago 7 will follow the true story-inspired tale of the riot that occurred outside the 1968 Chicago Democratic Convention and the subsequent 1969 trial that followed that accused several organizers of conspiracy to incite riots and other criminal charges. The Trial of the Chicago 7 stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sacha Baron Cohen, Danny Flaherty, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Keaton, Frank Langella, John Carroll Lynch, Eddie Redmayne, Noah Robbins, Mark Rylance, Alex Sharp, and Jeremy Strong. It is set to premiere on Netflix on October 16th.
