Netflix's "Altered Carbon" Cancelled

After two seasons on the streaming service, Netflix's science fiction series Altered Carbon, based on the series of novels by Richard K. Morgan, has been cancelled, reportedly due to the cost of producing another season versus the viewership numbers not being high enough. At the time of the show's inception, it was the most expensive show being produced on the streaming service.

The story followed Takeshi Kovacs (Played by Joel Kinnaman in season 1, Anthony Mackie in season 2) who awakens into a dystopian world where consciousness can be digitized and transferred to whatever body a person wants. As the surviving survivor of the rebellion that tried to prevent such a world from coming centuries before, he sets out to understand this new world as he tries to solve the murder of the wealthy man who brought him back.

For my part, I really enjoyed this show, very disappointed it ended this way, considering the huge amount of shitty movies Netflix can mass produce.
