1963's Lilies of the Field focused on the character of Homer Smith (Played by Sidney Poitier) who meets a group of nuns that believe he has been sent by God and he goes about building them a chapel. This was not an illusion, the chapel itself was actually built in full with a crew having to work through the night to keep up with the "progress" on-camera of the chapel's construction. However, because it was built on rented property, it had to be demolished immediately after the filming was completed. Still, an amazing dedication to detail for the film's setting to have more believability. Stay tuned!
