Movie Fact #114 - December 9th, 2020

The 2007 film Across the Universe is a jukebox musical that uses songs composed by the Beatles between 1962 and 1969. In addition, this inspiration went towards naming the main characters. The names of the six main characters (and most minor characters) were inspired by Beatles song titles and lyrics. The two prime examples are the lead romantic duo of Lucy (Played by Evan Rachel Wood) and Jude (Played by Jim Sturgess). Lucy's name comes from the song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", a song off the 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band while Jude comes from "Hey Jude", the non-album single originally released in 1968. Stay tuned!
