Mike Flanagan's "The Midnight Club" Begins Production

Mike Flanagan has become sort of a go-to filmmaker for the horror genre. Not only has be directed several adaptations of the works of Stephen King (Gerald's Game, Doctor Sleep), but he's also established himself with his one-two knockout of Netflix shows The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. Continuing that serialized concept, Flanagan took to Twitter today to announce he has begun production on his newest Netflix series The Midnight Club:

A 10-episode adaptation of Christopher Pike's bestselling book of the same name, the series will follow a group of terminally ill hospice patients who meet up at midnight to tell scary stories. Scream queen legend Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street) has been confirmed to co-star in the series as the head hospice doctor. Hopefully, Flanagan will continue his string of entertaining, high quality, horror thrills!

The Midnight Club is set to premiere on Netflix sometime later this year. Stay tuned!
