McGregor Confirms Production Start for Obi-Wan Kenobi Event Series

While the event series planned around the legendary Star Wars character Obi-Wan Kenobi went through some rewrites and changes in creative forces, Ewan McGregor has confirmed that the series is in fact ready to begin shooting in Spring 2021. In doing this, during an interview with ET Online, confirmed it is, for now, a one-off, single season event:

“As I understand, it’s a standalone season. We’ll see. Who knows? [I’m] really excited about it. It’s gonna be great, I think.”

Despite changes to the scripts, the series is still set to take place eight years after the events of 2005’s Episode III: Revenge of the Sith in which Obi-Wan delivered the infant Luke Skywalker to his Tatooine homestead. McGregor will executive produce the series alongside Hossein Amini, Kathleen Kennedy, Tracey Seaward, John Swartz, and Deborah Chow. Chow will also serve as director of all the episodes. Stay tuned!
