Ahead of it's season 3 finale next week (May 11th), FX has officially renewed their Sons of Anarchy spin-off, Mayans M.C., for a season 4. Co-creator and executive producer Elgin James (who took over sole creative duties when Kurt Sutter exited the show following season 2) had this to say:
I am deeply indebted to everyone at FX and 20th for allowing us to continue to tell the stories of the characters that Kurt [Sutter] and I created and whom our cast and crew took to new heights in season 3. In season 4 we look forward to diving deeper into each character’s truths, exploring the danger of the combustible world they inhabit, and for each writer, cast member and crew to stake out our place as storytellers.
The show is set two-and-a-half years after it's parent show, following the journey of Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (J.D. Pardo), a newly patched member of the Mayans M.C. charter on the California/Mexico border who must come to grips with family both in the clubhouse and out of it. FX confirmed that the new season will premiere sometime in 2022. Stay tuned!
