Marvel Studios' Phase 4 of their Marvel Cinematic Universe is working out to be the most experimental of the group. No only is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness expected to be the franchise's first official horror movie, but Eternals is looking to be the most experimental project that Marvel has ever done. And then there is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings which is expected to be a powerhouse kung fu film that also has a specific job...to finally get the much-anticipated villain, The Mandarin, right. A villain who first "appeared" in 2013's Iron Man 3 in the form of a faux version played by Ben Kingsley who turned out to be an actor named Trevor Slattery that worked for the real villain of the film.
In the comics, The Mandarin is noted for possessing ten rings on his hands that grant him incredible powers. And as the official teaser trailer indicates...it's going to be an action-packed entry for the titular hero. Check it out below:
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Fala Chen, Meng'er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, Ronny Chieng, and Michelle Yeoh. It is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and is set to be released on September 3rd.
