Malek & Zaldana Join Russell's Latest

David O. Russell has been known to carry large ensemble casts in many of his recent films in the last decade. Although, they were often the same actors. Strangely, for his new movie that is current in production over at New Regency, he seems to be starting fresh with almost an entirely new cast that seems poised to be his most eclectic.

Beyond Christian Bale, who previously starred in Russell's films The Fighter (2010) and American Hustle (2013), Russell brings together the talents of recent heavy hitters Margot Robbie and John David Washington. However, he apparently won't be stopping there as recent as Rami Malek and Zoe Saldana have been announced to join the ensemble. For Saldana, this is a reunion of sorts with Bale who she previously worked with in the 2013 film Out of the Furnace.

Little else is known about the untitled feature beyond it's based on an original idea of the director. It will be Russell's first film since the 2015 Joy which received mixed reviews. Russell was working on a show over at Hulu a couple years ago but the plug was pulled, reportedly due to his connection to Harvey Weinstein (Who produced all his movies in the 2010's) and wanting to distance from any connection to the now shamed producer.

As said before though, Russell seems to be starting fresh with Arnon Milchan, Matthew Budman, and Anthony Katagas producing. Perhaps he will be able to redefine himself away from his previous collaborator. Stay tuned!
