So far, nothing about the sequel to the 2019 box office juggernaut Joker is all that surprising though a twist has been given at every turn to imply such. Yes, we all suspected Harley Quinn would appear though Lady Gaga I did not anticipate as the lead casting choice. We suspected it would be set in Arkham Asylum since the first movie ended with Arthur Fleck/Joker committed there though the idea it will be depicted as a musical love story was a throw-off. At this point, the only thing we can expect to know until a trailer is who else might be cast in it.
It's already been confirmed that Zazie Beetz will return as Arthur's next door neighbor/"love interest", Sophie Dumond. In addition, Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener have also been confirmed in major roles. Now the cast begins to roundout with Harry Lawtey (HBO‘s Industry) announced today to be joining cast in an unspecified role. According to Deadline, who broke the story, Lawtey's role is important to the story. But until the film is released on October 4th, 2024, you can catch Lawtey next in January in the third Christian Bale/Scott Cooper collaboration The Pale Blue Eye.
Todd Philip returns to direct while he once again co-writes the script with Scott Silver.
As for Lawtey, the second season of “Industry” just finished airing. Joker: Folie á Deux (The subtitle translated from French to mean "madness for two").

Joker was overrated. it had great acting and a nice ending but overall nothing memorable or worthy of second viewing.
