Just because you come out a week after one of the most anticipated blockbusters of the year from a competing studio, doesn't mean you can't use it to promote your own film in a parody-like fashion. Given the Kung Fu Panda films have made much of their appeal off poking fun at action films, it's no surprise that they would release a trailer making a joke at the expense of Dune: Part Two. With the fourth installment in the hit Dreamworks Animation coming out on March 8th (Dune: Part Two will come out March 1st), it's definitely good to get fans of the sci-fi film to stop by again at the theaters the next weekend. Check it out below:
The new installment sees Po (Voiced again by Jack Black) set to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace. However, in the search for his successor as the new Dragon Warrior, Po finds himself facing a new foe called "The Chameleon" who can absorb others' abilities.
Kung Fu Panda 4 once again features the voices of Dustin Hoffman, James Hong, Bryan Cranston, and Ian McShane with Awkwafina, Ke Huy Quan, Ronny Chieng, Lori Tan Chinn, and Viola Davis joining the ensemble. It is directed by Mike Mitchell (Sky High, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part) with Stephanie Ma Stine making her feature directorial debut as co-director.
Not a Jack Black fan.
meh...they should have stopped after the 2nd one
