It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since Pokémon first entered into the world. Now one of the most recognized franchises in the world, it has expanded across all media from video games to card games to anime films/shows. To commerate this, in an unconventional fashion, popstar
Katy Perry has released a song titled "Electric" that is dedicated to the franchise along with a music video that was released on her official YouTube channel.
Shot in Hawaii and directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada, the music video is simple, featuring Perry and Pikachu spying on a younger version of herself and Pichu (Pikachu's devolution) who subtly encourages Perry to pursue music. Check it out below:
The song is currently #8 on YouTube's trending page, having racked up over a million views in a little over 10 hours. Just goes to show, the popular franchise isn't losing any fans anytime soon. Stay tuned!
