Immediately following yesterday's casting of martial artist Donnie Yen, actor Shamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp, Netflix's Stowaway) has been announced to join the wildly eclectic cast set for John Wick: Chapter 4. While his role is being kept under wraps, Anderson will join Keanu Reeves, Yen, and pop star Rina Sawayama who is making her acting debut with the film. Director Chad Stahelski had this to say about Anderson's casting:
“It’s a thrill to be working with an actor of Shamier’s calibre. He’s proven exceptional with drama and action and is a compelling presence on screen."
The film is set to begin production this summer in a wide-range of shooting locations with some mentioned locations being New York, Japan, Germany, and Paris. Stahelski will direct from a script by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch who are take over scripting duties from Derek Kolstead (who had sole writing credit on the first three installments). The film is currently set for a release date of May 27th, 2022. Stay tuned!
