Director James Wan's passion project Malignant has long been anticipated by by his fans who have awaited his return to his roots in the horror genre such as Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring. Something he's put aside for some years as he's switched to big studio blockbusters like Furious 7 and Aquaman. His new horror film also seems to indicate an evolution of his talents in the genre, dealing with the intricate struggles of a woman (Played by Annabelle Wallis) paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders. Her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities. As the new trailer indicates, this will lead to a winding and haunting road for the protagonist.
