While it's been presumed for some time, the new TV spot for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has now confirmed that Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will face consequences for his universe-destroying actions in Spider-Man: No Way Home by judgment from the Illuminati. Check the new spot out below:
In the comics, the Illuminati is a think-tank whose original members represented a portion of the Earth's superhuman community, and also had great personal power and/or influence. The original team consisted of Mister Fantastic, Iron Man, Professor X, Doctor Strange, Black Bolt, and Namor. While Patrick Stewart has been coy about his return as Professor X, his voice in the trailers has all but given away his involvement. This also coincides with rumors that many former non-MCU iterations of heroes will make an appearance along with talk that this film will serve as Ryan Reynold's entry point into the MCU as Deadpool.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness co-stars Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. It is directed by Sam Raimi and is set to be released in theaters on May 6th.
It feels like zero hype for this film.
