While the first season of The Handmaid's Tale was a near direct adaptation of the original book by author Margaret Atwood, the following two seasons were based on original storylines composed for the series, not even related to Atwood's 2019 sequel novel The Testaments that focuses on new characters entirely almost 15 years after the events of the original book.
Season 4 of the series continues to stick to it's own creative guns, focusing now on Elisabeth Moss’ character June Osborne going beyond the walls of the totalitarian state Gilead along with several of her fellow Handmaids. Today, the official trailer for the new season has been released, ahead of the season's premiere on Hulu on April 28th. Check it out below:
Season 4 of The Handmaid's Tale is set to consist of ten episodes. Stay tuned!
For a feminist show, it could be hell of a lot worse.
