The more things change, the more they stay the same. Kratos may now be a father now (or again if you know his backstory), but he's still the one delving out death to the gods. After being the one to bring forth the Twilight of the Gods in Greek mythology, he's now set to bring about Ragnarök in Norse Mythology. To say God of War Ragnarök is the most anticipated game of the year would be an understatement so it's best instead to watch the new 4K launch trailer that was released today:
This is a story that will see Kratos and his son Atreus (revealed to be a young Loki in the previous game) grapple with questions and obstacles that will lead them to face off against the heavy hitters of Odin's chambers. That includes a VERY angry Thor and maybe even Odin himself. Not to mention needing to fight former ally Freya who, in the previous game, witnessed Kratos being forced to kill her son.
A vicious cycle follows the seemingly eternal God of War. The question is, what price will he pay this time? You'll get to find out when the game hits shelves next Friday (November 6th) exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
