Jin is going on vacation! Well, actually, he's set to travel the brand new Iki Island as part of the expansion featured in Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut which was officially announced by Sony today following rumors surfacing of it yesterday. This was announced with a brand new trailer which be viewed below:
The expansion will see Jin travels to the island to investigate rumors of a Mongol presence but will ultimately lead to him dealing with personal stakes and a dive into traumatic moments from his past. Along the way, players will encounter new environments, new armor, new mini-games, new trophies, new techniques, new enemy types, and more.
Pre-orders are available now with the upgrades and disc editions both arriving August 20th. New physical disc versions will be available for $59.99 on PS4 and $69.99 on PS5 though those who already own the regular PS4 game, the upgrade to the Director’s Cut will be available for $19.99 while the PS5 version can be updated for $29.99. On a technical level, the game has been tweaked based on feedback from users (including alternate controller layouts and a target lock-on feature during combat). However, the game's PS5 version will take advantage of that console's hardware for further enhancements. DualSense controller enhancements including haptic feedback and adaptive trigger use will be there along with dynamic 4K resolution targeting 60fps, drastically improved load times, enhancements to 3D audio, and proper lip-sync for the Japanese voice track. In addition, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends (the online multiplayer aspect of the game) will gain an all-new mode though that update will be available at no additional charge to owners of any version of the game. stay tuned!
