In the last few months, the Mad Max franchise has gone from being stuck in limbo to rumors about another main installment to finally arriving at a rumor now made official today. Not only will Anya Taylor-Joy star in a prequel film focused on Fury Road breakout character Furiosa (Originally played by Charlize Theron), but it's now been confirmed that Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Aquaman) will be joining her.
Miller will once again direct, this time based on a script he co-wrote with Nick Lathouris, but the only details revealed about the plot is that it will focus on Furiosa's younger years and how she came to be a war captain under Immortan Joe. It's presumed, like all four Mad Max films, the prequel will be set in Miller's native Australia. He will also produce through his banner, Kennedy Miller Mitchell, alongside Warner Bros. Pictures. Stay tuned!
Shitty cast. Chris Hemsworth is one of the most boring actors of our time. We want Bane!
A Mad Max movie without Mad Max? Looking forward to seeing how they ruin this.
