Following her Emmy-nomination for her work in WandaVision, actress Elizabeth Olsen once again dives into matters of psychosis, this time with a less empathetic character in the form of real-life ax murderer Candy Montgomery in the upcoming HBO Max miniseries Love and Death. This is one of two projects currently in the mix that focuses on her story which saw Candy killing schoolteacher Betty Gore June 13, 1980 due to Candy having an affair with Betty’s husband, Allan. The story was noted as well for the knowledge that the married couple's infant baby remained in her crib for hours as Betty’s body remained undiscovered in another part of the house. Betty Gore will be played by Lily Rabe while Jesse Plemons will play Allan Gore. The other series in development is over at Hulu with Jessica Biel as Candy Montgomery and Melanie Lynskey as Betty. However, Love and Death seems poised to be the first to tell their version as the miniseries has released its first images of Olsen in charactertoday. Check them out below:
The series will draw it's ideas from the book Evidence of Love and noticeably is being written by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Undoing). Nicole Kidman, who starred in both of Kelley's past series, serves as executive producer on Love and Death. Patrick Fugit, Keir Gilchrist, Elizabeth Marvel, and Krysten Ritter also star. Filming is currently underway in Kyle, Texas with the series set for a 2022 premiere. Stay tuned!
