While originally set for a theatrical release in August (with distribution set to be handled by Universal Pictures), Tom Hanks newest film Bios will head to Apple TV+ for a yet-specified release in late 2021, following a purchase from the film's production company, Amblin Entertainment. In addition, the film has been renamed Finch. This marks the second Hanks-starring film to move to the streaming service, following last year's Greyhound.
Finch is directed by Miguel Sapochnik, based off a script that Craig Luck wrote with Ivor Powell. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic drama and follows the last man on Earth, an ailing inventor name Finch (Played by Hanks). As he nears death, he builds an android to protect his beloved dog. The film will also feature the talents of Caleb Landry Jones, Samira Wiley, and Skeet Ulrich (who will presumably appear in flashbacks, given the premise). Stay tuned!
