James Gunn is not exactly being subtle about how crazy The Suicide Squad is going to be. The central story sees the titular team sent out on a mission to destroy a Nazi-era laboratory and encounter the giant alien Starro. Starro alone represents the bizarre nature of the film for sure.
He's even spoken how the R-rating has given him more freedom as opposed to the PG-13 restriction he had with his Guardians of the Galaxy films over at Marvel. But it doesn't change the fact he has practically doubled the ensemble from the 2016 predecessor, bringing back characters like Rick Flagg and Harley Quinn, but also expanding with a wild assortment of characters such as King Shark and Bloodshot.
To help organize the large roster in the heads of audiences before they see the film, Gunn has released a brief featurette that on his Twitter that delves into the wild roster of rogues that are just dying to save the world. Check it out below:
The Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Peter Capaldi. It is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United Kingdom on July 30th before landing in theaters in the United States on August 5th, before streaming on HBO Max the following day.
