The lumberjack is dead! Long-live the Bay Harbor Butcher! After nearly a decade away, Michael C. Hall returns in the role of Dexter Morgan, the serial killer who kills other killers. The big hope is that the revival of Dexter will fix the tainted memory of the original series finale that saw the titular character fake his death, leave everything behind that he knew in Miami (including his own son), and work for a lumber company in Oregon. Most fans had the same reaction to this finale:
The big draw for this revival is showrunner Clyde Phillips, who ran the show through it's high point period of seasons 2 through 4, has returned to run the show. However, nothing else is known about the revival beyond Clancy Brown being cast as an unnamed villain for season 9. In any case, a premiere date has not yet been announced, but it must be on the horizon as Showtime has released a new mysterious teaser for the revival (Titled "Misunderstood") which does essentially one thing...prove that Hall's ready for more. You can check it out below:
The revival will also star Johnny Sequoyah, Julia Jones, Alano Miller, Michael Cyril Creighton, Jack Alcott, David Magidoff, Jamie Chung, and Oscar Wahlberg. Stay tuned!
I've kind of missed him.
